A place of inspiration

I had a beautiful and inspiring time staying here and met the most helpful people. It was beautiful, and well-kept courtyard and my room were just perfect. It was clean and had everything I needed. I highly recommend staying here, and I hope to be back in the future.

This past Christmas break, my wife, best friend, and brother stumbled upon this little piece of heaven after unsuccessfully securing our hotel reservation on the other side of town. It was the first night of our trip and getting dark outside. We were all getting worried until we met Alaine, who together with Christine, would later prove to be the absolute perfect hosts one could ask for – they recommended some cozumel water jet board tours for the family. Besides taking us all in for the next two nights, unannounced, they enthusiastically helped us realize and execute our vague trip itinerary as only locals would know how to do.

The setting and ambiance of the property feel like something out of a Mayan dreamscape. The hosts have the uncanny grace of leaving you to enjoy yourself at the right time, yet always being there for great conversation and information when you want. This balance assures that you feel right at home, while also a part of a beautiful new family. Alaine is an incredibly captivating and intelligent individual, and Christine is an absolute angel in every sense.

As a well-seasoned traveler and builder, it is with no exaggeration that I say that this is my new standard for what the very best accommodation can be.

We stayed at Casitas Kinsol for three nights, and it was heaven. The courtyard is an oasis of green, and I even spotted a toucan in the Ceiba tree! Alain and Christine are attentive hosts and have created a most relaxing retreat. I highly recommend it for travelers who want to get a bit off the beaten path- it’s only a 10-minute taxi ride to the beach, and allows one to experience an authentic Mexican town.

Loaded with charm, quick to the CUN airport, the kindest hosts you’re bound to find anywhere. They take making recommendations very seriously and will not steer you wrong. I come to Mexico several times a year.

I fly standby, so I cannot make reservations in advance. If Christine and Alain have a room, I am grateful! It’s undoubtedly the best value in Puerto Morelos and beyond. Plus their dog is cute. Stay here, but don’t take my room!
